Our courses are approved for CEUs by George Mason
University (GMU).
What is a CEU credit?
CEU is an acronym for
Continuing Education
Unit. The CEU credit is a nationally recognized unit of
measurement for participation in non-credit continuing
education programs. Adults who participate in TheCapitol.Net's courses that have been approved by George
Mason University may be awarded CEUs.
Custom on-site
training programs from TheCapitol.Net can also be approved
for CEUs from GMU; speak with your
Client Liaison for
details.
Is a CEU credit like a CLE or
CPE credit?
No. CEU credits are not the same as CLE (Continuing
Legal Education) credits. For information about CLE
credits, please see our
CLE page.
What courses from TheCapitol.Net
earn CEUs?
When
you see a symbol like this in a course description, it means
that CEUs have been approved by George Mason University (GMU)
for that course. When you sign in at the course
registration table, your course materials will include a
statement of the CEUs approved for that course, and
instructions about how to get a CEU Certificate from George
Mason University.
Custom on-site training
programs from TheCapitol.Net can also be approved for CEUs
from GMU; speak with your
Client Liaison for details.
How are CEU credits calculated?
One CEU is defined as 10
contact hours of participation in an organized continuing
education experience. A CEU can be awarded in whole units or
fractions of a unit (one-tenth unit) for each contact hour.
What are the benefits of CEU
credits?
The objectives of awarding CEU
credits
are
to:
- Encourage adult students
to utilize educational resources to meet their personal
and
educational needs.
- Recognize individuals
that continue their education and keep themselves current
in their chosen occupations and professions.
- Enable individuals to
have an accurate source of their current CEU activity.
How Do Attendees Receive CEU Certificates?
Attendees who have
completed an approved course sponsored by TheCapitol.Net and
want to receive a CEU Certificate must contact George Mason University,
Office of Continuing Professional Education, 4400 University Drive, MS 2G2, Fairfax, VA 22030. Phone:

Certificate that includes the date(s) of the program, the
name of the sponsoring organization (TheCapitol.Net), the
title of the course, and the number of CEUs awarded for that
course.
When you sign in at course registration, your program

that course, and instructions how to get a CEU Certificate
from George Mason University. TheCapitol.Net does not issue CEU
