1. Do you have a series of FAQs
about Congress and Washington?
Yes
we do, just click this sentence and then scroll down the
page. We also have a
FAQ
about our custom, on-site training.
2. Does TCN take
credit
cards? PayPal?
Yes. We accept government
procurement cards, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and
Discover. We also accept PayPal, a free service. Please Note:
We
only accept checks, government procurement cards,
credit cards,
and PayPal for our
telephone seminars. A purchase order is not payment and
will not be accepted.

3. Can you bill or invoice
me?
You are not registered
for a telephone seminar until we receive and process your
payment. We prefer payment by credit card or check.
Government Employees please note:
You
must submit payment with your training forms (e.g., Form
1556). We accept government credit cards.
A
purchase order is not payment and will not be accepted as
payment for telephone seminars. See
our
payment policy for details.
4. Who are you?
We have
a
page that describes our non-partisan firm (like CQ) and
our status as the exclusive provider of Congressional
Quarterly Executive Conferences.
5. What is a telephone seminar?
A
telephone seminar sponsored by TheCapitol.Net is a
45 minute to 95 minute course that is broadcast over the telephone. Telephone seminars offer you the convenience of calling in from work, home, or wherever you have a telephone connection,
and include Q&A with our expert faculty.
6. What equipment do I need?
A telephone.
7. How does it work?
After you register for the telephone seminar, you will receive a pass code that will connect you to the call on the day of the program via an 800 number, and you will receive a password that will enable you to access TheCapitol.Net's website so that you can download the course materials.

8.
How much do telephone seminars and audio
courses cost?
Each telephone seminar is $79. An audio
recording of
each telephone seminar is available, with seminar
materials, approximately 2 weeks after the seminar, for
$47.
9.
I want to have several people listen to the call. Do I have to pay for each person?
You can have up to 10 people listen in on one telephone, which includes a single speakerphone.
To
register more than one telephone, you must pay a separate
registration fee for each phone that is used to participate
in a telephone seminar - each person who calls in must be
separately registered. Please note that our telephone
seminars are copyrighted and may not be recorded,
rebroadcast or retransmitted. You may not forward or
disseminate the access code to any other person.

10.
What happens on the day of the program?
Five to ten minutes prior to the start of the program, you should dial the 800 number that was sent to you. Upon being connected to the automated TeleConference attendant, you will be greeted by the following message:
"Welcome to TelSpan TeleConferencing. Please enter your five digit code followed by the # sign." At this prompt, enter your pass code XXXXX, then press the # button.
Once your code has been recognized, you will be asked to state your name, organization name, and number of participants on the line with you, so that the host of the call will know you have joined. A live operator may intercept your line to clarify the recorded information. Once this information has been recorded for the Host, you will be placed back on
"music hold" until the Host begins the call.
When the call begins, your line will be mute, but you will be able to hear the conference. For the duration of the presentation, you will be in
"listen-only" mode. There will be at least one opportunity,
though usually two opportunities, for you to ask questions, usually
in the middle and at the end of the seminar. The operator will give instructions for asking questions at the appropriate time during the call.
Questions are answered in the order they are received. The operator will introduce you by name when it is your turn to speak into the telephone.
Please see also our "Instructions
for Participants"
